This week all revolved around letters, their sounds and the book Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom by Bill Martin, Jr. Here's a closer look at what we did ...
LETTER: T t
SIGHT WORD: I
MATH: Positional Words: Top, Middle, Bottom, Before, Between, After, Inside, Outside, etc.
WRITING: This week we practiced proper letter formation, always starting at the top, or middle for lowercase letters. We also spent a lot of time oh how to write our names the "kindergarten way," with only a capital at the beginning.
THEMATIC INSTRUCTION: Our thematic focus was all about letters this week. We read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and made our own trees with the letters of our name on them as we practiced counting the letters in our name. On Friday we had a special Chicka Day Celebration where we got to touch and taste a real coconut. I failed to take many pictures of the fun, but did manage to snap a few. Enjoy viewing them below.
